For those of you who have used a lot of different types and can share your educated opinion, which is your favorite brand? If it depends on the color, I'm shopping for white, specifically.

Thanks! :)

I've tried several, both cheaper and more expensive, and the one I would recommend is American Crafts. I don't think I've used their white--if they even have one?--but the other colors have worked well, and I've heard other people say good things about the AC ones. The cheaper white one I tried, and I don't recall the name, smelled a little funny, which bothered me, though it may not bother you. Hope that helps!

Melissa, that's funny b/c American Crafts Zing is the one brand I've struggled with and the reason I decided to ask. Mine doesn't melt well or evenly and that made me wonder if there are brands that are clearly better. But it might just because I have the Ranger Heat Tool, which doesn't get as hot.

I started with the Zing powders and loved them at first. However, I started getting unhappy with how the tiny details weren't embossing well, so I've switched mainly to powders that say fine or super fine. I've gotten much better results with those. The ones I have are from Hero Arts or Ranger. I've also tried some from Wow and like those...and they have a great range of colors and finishes, so that's a plus.

I love WOW Embossing Powders, since they do have several Whites as well as regular and super fine ... in addition, I like Hero Arts White Embossing Powder, which I tried after Jennifer McGuire recommended it ...

I like the Ranger Super Fine Detail White.  It melts beautifully!

I second the Ranger brand embossing powders. Their quality is consistently good. Super-fine is what I use most.

For detailed images, my favorite white so far is Hero Arts.

When I'm feeling a little more "cashy"  and can sidestep the stamp sales I have a huge wishlist of embossing powders i want to buy at sparkle n sprinkle. They have the largest range of embossing powder types I've ever seen.  I love the jar I bought at the 2010 CHA Supershow.

LOL I just enabled myself, and ordered about 7 of the small jars in a variety of "types" and colors.

I will say that MOST of the embossing powders in my arsenal are Ranger, they are GREAT, especially the metallics. I have some WOW as well and like those.

Ranger, and fine or detail, if available in the color you want. They are superior.
