What paints, pens, and paper or journal do you use on most, or all, of your pages?

For me it is Neocolor II watercolor crayons, black sharpie markers or my new love Pitt pens, and Fabriano hot press bright white watercolor paper.

I am pretty new to art journaling and have been using mostly spray inks and stencils. Just bought a big 36 ct box of gelatos that I am excited to play with.

I've been playing around with digital art brushes. Having a ball with how realistic the ones made by Kyle T Webster. SO FUN!

Acrylic inks are my go to for starting a page off - they produce a beautiful bold and colourful wash. I've tried sprays but the look is too messy for my taste. I'm still experimenting to find my own style and voice in my art journals. But I do like a clean wash of colour to start the ball rolling

I'm a stencil addict. One of the things I do in my journal are pages using many layers of stenciling which I call my Serenity Pages. I find it very relaxing.

I just recently tried Dina Wakley's new acrylic paints. The colors are highly pigmented and spread much more smoothly than most heavy body acrylics. The non-sticky matte finish makes them a good product for use in a journal.

I'm also having fun making backgrounds with Distress Stains applied with a brayer.

Definitely modeling paste, I love how versatile it is, great for every style, and easy to mix with any other medium. :)

I too love pan pastels, I own way too many of them, lol! The thing that I have found works best is to apply a fixative after using them on my page before adding the journaling. If I don't do this they come off on my hands, my clothes, everything when I journal over the top of them. So far I have been lucky and been able to get the stains out, but still I prefer not to make a mess like that. The fixative I use is Krylon's Workable Fixatif (aerosol) or SpectraFix Degas Pastel Fixative (non-aerosol).

I love using old sewing patterns on my pages.  I also include gesso, paint, spray and stenciling.  I use pitt pens and sharpies to write with and love to include bits and pieces of old ephemera and scraps from my favourite papers.
