Hi - we are taking a trip to the Grand Canyon for Spring Break.  Wondering if anyone can recommend a wide angle fixed lens for a Canon 7D camera?  Curious about renting one, but would also consider buying one if price is not too crazy high.

Thanks!

I'd recommend 10-22. I wouldn't get a fixed lens because at grand canyon it's not like you can adjust your position freely to take the shot without falling off the canyon. :) The old advice that prime lens is much better than zoom is very old. The zoom lenses from the past decade have been excellent, about just as good as prime lenses.

10-22 is one of the lenses I highly recommend buying, if you are into landscape especially. It's very versatile. I live close to borrowlenses.com so i try to rent most lenses, but 35mm and 10-22mm are my two "can't live without" lenses on a crop body.
